Note on the processing of trapezoidal screw

Date:2021-06-01
Trapezoidal screw rods are usually used in applications that require smooth, compact, clean and maintenance-free instrumentation. Nuts are usually internally lubricated polymer materials. Trapezoidal screw applications also include laboratory and life science equipment, such as DNA sampling equipment, scanning equipment, and fluid handling equipment. Other applications include engraving, rapid prototyping, inspection and data storage equipment. In addition, sliding screws with metal (usually copper) nuts can also be used for heavy lifting.
Matters needing attention in processing trapezoidal screw:
   1. When processing and assembling, the knurling cutter must be moved easily in the groove without too large a gap. If the gap is too large, the hob wheel will tilt when working, and the rolled out pattern will be uneven, and it will be easily damaged.
  2. Start the lathe first, let the workpiece rotate, and then tighten the screw to prevent excessive static friction and the workpiece from slipping.
  3. The material must be round steel of a regular brand, otherwise the surface of the workpiece is easy to form scales, etc., the milling cutter is easy to break and crack, and the knurling cutter is quickly worn.
  4. Do not lubricate and cool the knurled knife while working to prevent damage to the carbide blades that are close to it.
  5. Choosing a well-made knurled knife to reduce the number of tool changes; regularly disassemble the quick-change cover to clean the knife groove.
